Erin HendersonPresident and CEO
Erin Henderson is the CEO and Founder, a role in which she combines her unique blend of nonprofit and government experience to manage Breaking Cycles multi-faceted programs, to foster self sufficiency in the greater Charles County, MD area. She is responsible for establishing best practices and solutions, managing the work of organization staff, and expanding the reach for support recipients.
Erin brings to the job a passion for helping young people from diverse backgrounds struggling to support themselves. Her career in the government sector, which began while she was earning a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Acquisition and Management at Strayer University, has afforded her with a comprehensive view of the challenges that accompany change. As a recipient of services and support from various multi-service nonprofit programs across the Greater Washington, DC area, during her youth as a former foster child and homeless teen mother, Erin learned first hand the importance of public support, including how services are marketed and delivered to the community. Erin’s work as former owner of a financial literacy consulting team, included helping other local nonprofits to educate their clientele about personal finance. Through shared learning and advocacy, Erin believes that improvements can be made in the community that will benefit residents overall.
